Antennae extremely long, several times the body length. Vertex blunt and rounded, lacking lateral carinae. Wings well-developed, rarely absent; forewings soft, males lacking stridulatory organs. Legs stout and short, robust; fore coxa with one spine, tibia lacking tympanal organ; tarsi 4-segmented, flattened, the first three segments with slightly expanded tarsal pads. Male ninth abdominal tergum elongated; cerci simple, mostly long conical.
