The camel crickets of the family Rhaphidophoridae are the cave crickets of the insect world: wingless, humpbacked, and built for jumping. Diestrammena japanica is one of the better-known species, a native of Japan that has hitched rides around the globe.
Outside its native range, particularly in the eastern United States, it is recognized as an invasive species, often turning up in basements and damp crawl spaces. On Rinjani, though, it was just a shy jumper doing its best impression of a shadow in a damp hollow.
Its long antennae and oversized hind legs make it unmistakable, if you are quick enough to see it before it leaps.
它会有保护色吗
有的。驼螽（灶马）全身是斑驳的棕褐色，和落叶、泥土、洞穴壁几乎融为一体，这就是典型的保护色（隐蔽色）。它们没有翅膀、不会发声，又只在夜间活动，遇到危险主要靠跳走，所以靠颜色藏身就是最重要的防御手段，跟那些用鲜艳警戒色吓唬天敌的虫子正好相反。
